Turmeric Rice Pilaf

A fragrant and vibrant rice dish, perfect as a side or main course.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 2 cups water or vegetable broth
  • 1 teaspoon Ecoaura Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or ghee
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Rinse rice under cold water until the water runs clear; set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil or ghee in a saucepan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
  3. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden.
  4. Stir in turmeric powder and salt, followed by the rinsed rice.
  5. Pour in water or broth, bring to a boil, then lower the heat and cover.
  6. Simmer for 15–20 minutes or until the rice is cooked.
  7. Fluff with a fork, garnish with fresh cilantro, and serve warm.
